This interactive session will examine how financial institutions, policymakers, and development partners can build a stronger business case for SMEs to adopt sustainable practices and access sustainable finance.

Participants will explore findings from the Sustainable SME Finance Innovation Hub’s member survey, including persistent challenges related to ESG data, reporting, and fragmented frameworks. A featured case study from Sri Lanka will demonstrate how an inclusive sustainable finance roadmap, revised taxonomy, and targeted export-readiness support can better serve SMEs and underserved groups. The discussion will identify practical value propositions, policy approaches, and learning priorities to accelerate SME participation in a more resilient and inclusive financial system.
