A.J. Davidson

A.J. has over 25 years of experience in international capital markets, structured finance & credit, and financial advisory services, 17 years of which were spent living and working in Frankfurt and London. He started his career in legal private practice in 1998 working for Linklaters, then Wilmer Hale, and finally Sidley. In 2005, he moved into investment banking, first with Merrill Lynch focusing on Emerging Market debt capital markets and structuring, then Citigroup focused on new product development for financial institutions, and ultimately Royal Bank of Scotland where he was the Head of Hybrid Capital and Balance Sheet Solutions for Banks, Corporates and Insurance Companies in EMEA and APAC regions.

In 2017, after relocating back to the United States, A.J. joined an early-stage start-up called Lendable Marketplace, Inc., one of the first start-up data-driven loan marketplaces in frontier and emerging markets as their head of finance and capital markets. A.J. was instrumental in Lendable’s pivot to becoming a private credit fund and principal investing platform for EM FinTech Lenders as well as building Lendable’s standard investment product, their underwriting and due diligence processes (including their investment committee process), building their capital markets platform with global institutional investors, setting up their internal finance and control function and recruiting their current CEO.

In 2019, A.J. left Lendable to form a boutique advisory business, Akses Advisors (akses.io), to act as an advisor to several other FinTech start-ups, including Accial Capital Partners (a similar business to Lendable), and several early-stage FinTech platforms where he provided holistic advice to platforms seeking to raise capital from institutional investors as well as managing capital raising transactions on behalf of his clients. While he still manages Akses today, in 2023, he and his two co-founding partners, launched SixPoint Capital Management (an affiliate of Park Cities Asset Management) focusing on loan and receivables portfolio securitizations for Emerging Market FinTechs. In early 2025, SixPoint Capital Management spun out its technology platform into a new venture, called Akses AI, where A.J. is now CEO and co-founder. Akses AI is a full AI Agentic end-to-end software solution for Private Credit Asset Managers for complete automation of the entire investment management process and workflow (deal screening, due diligence, underwriting, risk management, asset & portfolio management and reporting).

A.J. received his B.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1993, his Juris Doctorate from Boston University in 1997, and his Masters in International Relations from Boston University in 1998.
