Karyl Akilian

Karyl Akilian is Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Financial Alliance for Women and a global expert in women’s financial inclusion. With more than 20 years of experience in banking, marketing, and product innovation, she advises financial institutions worldwide on designing and scaling profitable, customer-centric Women’s Markets strategies.
Before joining the Alliance, Karyl held senior roles at BLC Bank in Lebanon, where she helped create and scale the award-winning “We Initiative,” a globally recognized women’s banking program. She is an experienced speaker and trainer at international forums and has served on the board of the Lebanese League for Women in Business.
Karyl holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the American University of Beirut, where she was recognized as Distinguished Computer Science Alumnus of the Year.
