George Ogbonnaya

George Ogbonnaya is a Senior Vice President and the Divisional Head, Business Banking at First City Monument Bank Limited. A Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration and Senior Honourable Member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He holds a degree in Computer Science B.Sc., MBA in Business Administration, and a Certified Coach in Game Thinking with over 27 years experiences in banking, cutting across SME & Commercial Banking, Credit Sales, Retail & personal Banking, Product Development & Management and Electronic Banking.
In addition to having the responsibility for driving growth in the SME segments, George is also responsible for developing new products/solutions and finding alternative sources of funding for SMEs. He drives the Bank’s strategic goals in emerging sectors including Renewable Energy, Women-In-Business, Healthcare and Education. Under his leadership, the Bank has progressed to one of the most recognized and awarded SME Bank in Nigeria with accolades from BusinessDay, KPMG, Asian Bankers, IFC SME Global forum, Development Bank of Nigeria, BOI, among others.
