Gokhan Kont
Investment Manager, FIG North Africa & the Horn of Africa, International Finance Corporation
Gokhan is the Regional Industry Manager for Investments in Financial Institutions Group at IFC responsible for North Africa & the Horn of Africa (including Ethiopia, Zambia and Malawi). Prior to that, he worked as the Regional Manager responsible for IFC’s new business and investment portfolio of $6 billion in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East.
He started his career at Fidelity Investments in Boston working in equity and fixed income funds and later joined Citigroup’s FIG M&A team covering North America. After a few years with Garanti Bank treasury department in Istanbul, he joined IFC in 2005. Gokhan holds a BSc. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and master’s and post graduate degree from the University of Texas and Northeastern University.
