Rebecca Harrison is the Co-Founder and CEO of the African Management Institute (AMI), an edTech scaleup pioneering high-impact workplace learning for Africa’s ambitious companies and talent. Under Rebecca’s leadership, AMI has become Africa’s leading provider of business and management learning, supporting over 50,000 businesses in 39 African countries over the last decade, impacting 1.5 million livelihoods and contributing more than $130 million to the continent’s economies.
AMI’s evidence-based approach combines AI-powered diagnostics with live learning and practical tools to drive on-the-job performance, delivering the continent’s highest-outcome learning programs, tailored for African businesses.
Before founding AMI, Rebecca was a foreign correspondent and news leader for Reuters News Agency, where she led business coverage across Africa and reported from 13 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Passionate about business-building as a mechanism for job creation, prosperity, and human flourishing, Rebecca previously served on the global executive committee of the Aspen Network for Development Entrepreneurs and informally mentors as many young entrepreneurs as she can.
She lives in Nairobi, Kenya, with her husband and two sons.
