Sr. Program Officer, Gates Foundation

Matt Bohan is a Sr. Program Officer with the Gates Foundation. He is the Program Officer for the Level One Project, Tazama, the Mojaloop Interoperability API work and manages a portfolio of financial services infrastructure investments.

As a consultant at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he has served as an Advisor in the Technology Advisory Services team focused on Global Development and Global Health with projects in FSP, Global Libraries, Malaria, and Neglected Infectious Diseases. Additionally, he advised the Ministry of Health in Ethiopia on their approach to an automated balanced scorecard application for the Integrated Delivery team.

Prior to his time at the Foundation, Matt spent several years consulting with Microsoft, AT&T Mobility and multiple health plans as well as 10+ years in the health insurance industry. At Premera Blue Cross, Matt managed the IT Project Management Office. As a consultant, he focused on IT, program and project management, process improvement, financial and operational performance improvement, healthcare management and telecom.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Transylvania University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health.
