Phumzile Chifunyise serves as a National Planning Commissioner, where she leads the SMME Growth Task Team, and is a member of South Africa’s G20 Startup20 Task Force. She is also the Managing Director of SiMODiSA, a policy advocacy organisation advancing South Africa’s Startup Act reforms to unlock growth for high-impact tech and innovation startups.

With a professional background in Enterprise Development, Learning & Development, and Communications, Phumzile is a development practitioner specialising in Small Business Transformation and Policy—across both the formal and informal economy—with a strong focus on Agriculture.

She is the Founder of GreenNatives and The Crop Box, a venture that provides last mile agricultural distribution services.

A passionate advocate for food security, economic inclusion, and job creation, Phumzile brings strategic foresight, operational excellence, and measurable impact for for Youth, Women, and Township entrepreneurs.
