Tim Masela
Former Head, National Payment System Department, South African Reserve Bank
P M T (Tim) Masela is the former Head of the National Payment System Department (NPSD) at the SARB who was appointed in August 2012, having joined the Bank in July 1994. He also chaired the Payment Systems Subcommittee of the Southern African Development Community Committee of Central Bank Governors and represented the Bank on both the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Committee on Payment and Market Infrastructure and the Continuous Linked Settlement Oversight Committee chaired by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He holds MCom and BCom degrees and a Graduate Diploma in Computer Audit and has completed a senior executive programme from Harvard University.
