Yaa Boakye is a seasoned Senior Investment Officer in the Financial Institutions Group at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she leads mobilization efforts for financial inclusion. With over 17 years of experience spanning North America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia, Yaa brings deep expertise in business development, deal structuring, and execution.
During her 12 years at IFC, Yaa has led innovations in climate, gender and MSME finance. She led the development of the first private sector climate-focused financing products for SMEs, addressing the impacts of climate change on small businesses in vulnerable communities. Additionally, Yaa led the launching of the first Gender Bond with a private sector entity in emerging markets, setting a precedent for replication. Throughout her career at IFC, she has originated and executed over 40 transactions, delivering more than $5 billion in new financing to clients across emerging markets.
Yaa holds an MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management and a BSc in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from Cardinal Stritch University. She joined IFC through the prestigious World Bank Young Professionals Program and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York State.
