Head of Agronomy and Supply Chain, Soufflet Malt Ethiopia

Tesfaye Bedada Hora is a results-driven leader specializing in agricultural supply chain management and agronomy. With over 13 years of expertise, he currently serves as the Head of Agronomy and Supply Chain at Soufflet Malt Ethiopia SC, a member of the international Invivo Group.
In this role, Tesfaye is responsible for the entire barley value chain, from variety selection to delivering 100,000 tons of raw material to the processing factory. Agronomic Technical Support, Digital Payment and Input and Output financing is part of the activities in this Supply Chain. He has defined and executed a winning sourcing strategy that has secured the company's market leadership. Under his leadership, his team has successfully collected over 320,000 tons of barley, valued at more than $94 million, by working directly and indirectly with a network of over 60,000 smallholder farmers. His core competencies include input/output financing, procurement, import-export logistics, and farmer development.
Tesfaye holds a master’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Resource Economics and Management from Hawassa University. Prior to Soufflet, he sharpened his skills as a Supply Chain Manager at GreenPath Food, where he is also responsible for working with small holder Farmers in identifying organic farming land and handling perishable Vegetable and herbs for export purposes. His length of experience also includes working with Pastoralists asthe Monitoring and Evaluation office for the program implemented under the GoE in Collaboration with the World Bank.
