Deo Onyango

Deo Onyango is a Sustainable Finance specialist with IFC’s Financial Institutions Group (FIG), where he supports climate-related investments and works with clients across Africa to build scalable and commercially viable sustainable finance operations.

He brings over two decades of experience spanning finance, infrastructure, and renewable energy. Prior to joining IFC, Deo spent 12 years with General Electric (GE) deploying large-scale infrastructure solutions across the continent. He began his career in structured and sponsor finance with Citigroup in London, where he spent 10 years advising and financing global clients.

Deo holds an MSc in Finance from London Business School, a Graduate Diploma in Investment Management from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics from the University of Nairobi.
