Momen Syed Abdul
Additional Managing Director & Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank PLC
Syed Abdul Momen is the Additional Managing Director of BRAC Bank PLC. With over 20 years of experience in banking, he has led major initiatives across technology, operations, and SME banking.
He joined BRAC Bank in 2005 and has played a pivotal role in its growth—leading tech transformation, SME recovery programs, and building the country’s largest small business portfolio. In 2007, he served as COO at BRAC Afghanistan Bank, expanding its operations and shaping SME policies in collaboration with the Central Bank of Afghanistan. In 2017, he was appointed Head of SME Banking, under which BRAC Bank solidified its market leadership.
Mr. Momen started his career at ANZ Grindlays and later led regional IT transformation projects at Standard Chartered. He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Communications from Middlesex University (UK), a Master’s in Development Studies from BRAC University, and is a graduate of the CEO Program at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
