Kagisho Dichabe is an engineer turned business architect and one of Africa’s ingeniously disruptive leaders. His expertise spans over 25 years - with core strategic focus on digital & financial inclusion for individuals and their businesses (especially informal). Kagisho is passionate about empowering the unbanked (through mojaPay) and unconnected (through Kaya Konekta) in the townships and rural areas of South Africa, and enable them to also participate in the much-needed digital economy.
As a Co-Founder and Chairman of the Fintech Association of South Africa (FINASA), Kagisho supports “the alternative way of doing things” within the Financial Sector and ensures that the South African fintech ecosystem is advocated for, especially regarding regulatory and compliance requirements. He sits on the SARB’s Payments Council Advisory Subcommittee for the NPS Vision 2030+, and the National Treasury’s Technical Working Group for National Financial Inclusion Strategy Development. He represents South Africa on the BRICS Business Council focusing on Financial Sector incl. Fintechs and BRICSpay. He is also one of the core Design Team members, and now sit on the Advisory Committee, for the newly formed Payment Industry Body (PIB) that is established by the SARB, and Payment Association South Africa (PASA). Kagisho is also a board member of the Africa Fintech Network, and also represent the Africa at the International Digital Economies Association (iDEA) and the Chair for iDEA’s Africa and the G20 Committees.
Kagisho is a recipient of the 2024 Silver Global Stevie® Award - Executive of Year (Financial Technology).
